The Go2Group Perforce Plugin for JIRA creates Perforce Jobs from a corresponding JIRA issue, allowing developers to link JIRA issues directly to Perforce jobs. Developers in JIRA can now link an issue to a Perforce Job.

By deploying the Perforce P4Web component, users can quickly review any checked-in differences for specific files associated with a JIRA issue. By simply clicking a link in the Diff column within JIRA, a browser window opens displaying the Diff page created by the P4Web Component.

The plugin scales with your needs, providing both simple and sophisticated features, including:

Key Features

  • Simple Issue Job Linking: This feature will create a Perforce job for each JIRA issue in certain projects. The jobs allow developers to indicate which files they are submitting to Perforce to fix an issue. This information will be displayed in JIRA.
  • Job Naming: The plugin can use the JIRA issue key as the job ID. Alternatively, a special type of custom field can be created to hold the job ID, and use the regular Perforce job numbering scheme.
  • Advanced Replication: In the most sophisticated case, the plugin can update job fields in Perforce and have those changes flow back to JIRA. We carefully map the fields we wish to synchronize, paying attention to the JIRA data types to prevent any possible synchronization errors. We use the plugin’s JIRA service to periodically scan Perforce for updated jobs, and copy updates from those jobs back to the linked JIRA issues.
  • Data Synchronization: This feature is similar to job linking, but we want to send more JIRA data to the Perforce job, making it visible and searchable in Perforce. So, we map additional JIRA fields to job fields, most likely modifying our jobspec to add additional fields.
  • Project Mapping: From the GUI configurations screen, the fields in one or many JIRA projects can be mapped differently providing maximum flexibility.
  • Perforce Trigger: As an alternative to using the JIRA service to scan for updated Perforce jobs periodically, you can use a Perforce trigger to send those updates back to JIRA immediately. This approach is simple and fast, but requires installing a Perforce trigger, which requires ‘super’ access to Perforce.

  • $1,000.00 per license (US Dollars)
  • A license is considered a “site” license for one (1) instance of Atlassian JIRA
  • License fee includes 12 Months Go2Group Maintenance & Support
  • Go2Group Maintenance includes access to all updates and upgrades during the 12 month maintenance period
  • Go2Group Support includes access to all available support options during the 12 month maintenance period
